Transit Visa
You require a Transit Visa if you are on a flight, or other form of transportation, which transits Canada on the way to another destination and the duration of your stay in Canada does not exceed 48 hours. The Canadian Transit Visa is issued free of charge, and is valid for a stay of 48 hours only.
To apply for a Canadian Transit Visa, please submit the following documents:
- Completed Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside of Canada (IMM5257) To print this form you need Acrobat Reader 4.0 or above
- A valid passport or travel document. There must be at least one remaining blank visa page in your passport and the passport should be valid for at least for six months.
- Two recent photographs. For Visa Application Photograph specifications, please click here
- Copy of visa to the third country
- The original and a photocopy of your ticket with confirmed reservations
- One photocopy of the passport page containing your biographical information (name, date of birth, passport number etc.)
- Applicants who are between ages of 18 and 49 inclusive, will need to submit their Taiwan Certificate of Entry and Exit Dates (past five years) together with the visa application, if EITHER one of the following criteria applies:
- Passport was issued within the past 3 months from the date of the visa application or
- Applicant has previously lost passport(s).
- Applicants Under 18 Years of Age
